Nigel, who is Managing Partner at one of London’s leading independent legal firms Mackrell Turner Garrett, was chosen by the network’s international membership – consisting of more than 4,500 lawyers in 60 countries in 92 firms on five continents – for the prestigious position.
Nigel will take over in 2017 as Chairman from Michael Connolly, from New York MI member firm Morrison Cohen who has played an instrumental role in the network’s growth over the last two years.
Speaking after MI AGM in Hong Kong, Nigel said: “I am extremely honoured to have been chosen as the new incoming chair of Mackrell International. Having been a member with the organisation for a large part of my working life, it is incredibly rewarding to now be its Chairman.
“I hope to maintain the excellent reputation the group has developed and continue the legacy of my predecessor by providing exceptional services and benefits to our members.”
The AGM also featured discussions on the future of the network and its place in the world of international legal services.
“This year’s AGM raised some interesting points, that I hope we as a group can use as a springboard for future ideas and developments,” added Nigel.
